Julie Amies – Chief Executive
Leads Energise Me in its delivery of the sport and physical activity strategy across Hampshire & the Isle of Wight. The partnership is one of the largest in the country with 3 unitary authorities, 11 district authorities and a population of over 1.8 million.
Favourite hobbies: Squash, cycling, walking, swimming, gym, reading and theatre!
Sophie Burton – Strategic Lead – Insight and Workforce
Leads Energise Me in establishing and maintaining relationships with National Governing Bodies of Sport. This includes the provision of insight and intelligence to inform local priorities and shape interventions. Sophie also provides strategic direction in regard to workforce development and manages the partnerships work on safeguarding and equality, developing policy and practice in line with national standards.
Favourite hobbies: Walking, spending time with family, the cinema, travelling, going to world class sporting events and dabbling in Workplace Challenge activities.
Helen Fisher – Strategic Lead – Physical Activity & Health
Leads Energise Me in all physical activity work and manages key relationships with public health, CCGs and the NHS. Acts as our main geographical link with IOW, Portsmouth and Southampton.
Favourite hobbies: Cycling, reading, camping and spending time with family and friends.
Jake Hitchcock – Business Admin Apprentice
Jake is currently studying an apprenticeship in Business Administration and is part of the Energise Me administration team. Jake looks after the general email address and telephone number for Energise Me and is therefore often the first point of contact.
Favourite hobbies: Outside of work, most of his time is taken up by watching or (preferably) playing football. Whether it be a competitive game or just a kick about, Jake always finds time to get out and be active.
Robyn Bell – Project Support Intern
Supports the Youth Project Manager on our Sport England funded Satellite Clubs programme. These programmes aim to get more young people active across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, which are focused strongly on 14 to 19 year olds. Satellite Clubs are delivered where inactive young people are and designed with them so that it meets their needs and provides them with a positive, enjoyable experience. The programmes will help build their confidence and make it more appealing for them to become and stay active.
Favourite hobbies: Going to the gym, exercise classes, rowing, skiing, running and travelling!
Sara Lock – Marketing & Communications Manager
Leads on marketing and communications to support the delivery of Energise Me’s strategy and encourage engagement in sports and physical activity.
Favourite hobbies: Origami, pilates, climbing, travelling and running (slowly) in beautiful settings.
Sharon Robertson – Strategic Lead – Children & Young People
Leads Energise Me in the planning and delivery for the Hampshire School Games, Primary PE & School Sport Premium, Energise Me Awards, Partner Breakfast Meetings.
Favourite hobbies: Keeping her young family active, coaching and managing Winchester U8’s hockey squads and running (very slowly!).
Jennifer Stangroom – Marketing and Communications Officer
Supporting Energise Me in marketing and communications to help deliver a strategy that encourages engagement in sports and physical activity.
Favourite hobbies: Anything adventurous and outdoors, pilates, mountain biking, travelling around the world and exploring new places.
Harry Stow – Sports Development Officer – Performance
Leads Energise Me on the Hampshire Talented Athlete scheme which supports emerging and developing talent within the county. Leads on Club Development, including funding and Clubmark Accreditation. Supports the workplace activity agenda through the delivery of the national scheme Workplace Challenge.
Favourite hobbies: All racket sports but particularly tennis. A regular at the ParkRuns too!
El Taylor-Jenks – Project Officer – Workforce
Leads Energise Me in its support and development of Sports Volunteering across Hampshire & the Isle of Wight. El is also heavily involved in developing Energise Me as a Not-For-Profit organisation and exploring new partnerships and funding opportunities.
Favourite hobbies: Walking, swimming, cycling, playing various sports with her young family.
Jay Whiting- Youth Project Manager
Leads Energise Me on our Sport England funded Satellite Clubs programme in getting more young people active across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, through the delivery of our satellite clubs focused strongly on 14 to 19 year olds, delivered where inactive young people are and designed with them so that it meets their needs and provides them with a positive, enjoyable experience that builds their confidence and makes it appealing for them to become and stay active.

Penny Woods – Strategic Lead – Programmes
Leads Energise Me on a number of our Sport England funded programmes (including Sportivate and Satellite Clubs) as well as our Workplace Challenge initiative, which helps people working in local businesses to be more active in and around their working day. Penny is also the first point of contact within the team for four of our local authority areas – East Hampshire, Havant, New Forest and Winchester.
Favourite hobbies: Spending time outdoors playing hockey, running or cycling and, too rarely, being on the ski slopes or on the golf course!
