Place in Focus - Rushmoor

There are a lot of activity opportunities in Rushmoor, with lots of different organisations working to support their communities. As big believers in collaboration, we want to bring them all together and help them make connections and work collectively for the benefit of local people.

With significant change happening across local government in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, including moves towards combined mayoral authorities, and updates to the health system, this is a timely opportunity to strengthen leadership and collaboration skills, and keep physical activity high on the agenda.

And it’s important it does stay high on the agenda. Moving more makes a real difference to our physical, mental and social health and wellbeing.  Rushmoor’s inactivity levels has remained stubborn over the past decade, with around 26% of adults doing less than 30 minutes of activity a week – that’s over 22,000 people that could really benefit from moving more.

Leadership in Rushmoor

Inactivity cannot be tackled by one person or one organisation. It’s about looking at the big picture and better understanding the systems surrounding the community in Rushmoor, and who plays a role.

Leadership training, tailored to the needs of Rushmoor, can help everyone involved in this system. It will develop people’s ability to lead and influence, not just directly in their organisation, but across all the different groups, networks and sectors it will take to move the dial on inactivity. It will also offer time to reflect, connect, and discuss with others facing similar situations.

This training will help develop a shared vision for reducing inactivity in Rushmoor so the network can make progress together.
