We Can Be Active: Support To Get Started With A Health Condition

Join the Hampshire and Isle of Wight network of organisations that support people living with long-term health conditions to be active.

Hear from experts at national charities who are supporting people living with long term health conditions to find ways to be active that work for them.

The theme of this meeting is mental health and how we can support those struggling to get active.

Who is this event for?

This event is for organisations delivering services across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, that are or would like to support members of the community living with a long-term health condition.

Whether you’re from a local authority, a leisure or community group, a health charity or working as an activity provider, this event is for you.

Why attend?

According to Sport England, 69% of people living with long-term health conditions would like to be more active. We know that physical activity benefits our hearts, bodies and minds, and together, we can help others reap those benefits.

• Sport In Mind: Will discuss best practice in terms of removing barriers for those struggling with mental health to be physically active.

The We Can Be Active strategy states that we need opportunities that meet our needs and interests that are accessible and easy to find. And there are plenty of incredible organisations who are helping those with long-term health conditions to get active in a way that suits them.

Keep making a difference to people’s lives by learning from the works of others, expanding your knowledge on barriers that some may face and examples on how they can be overcome.
