Valley Leisure are looking for Trustees to strengthen their board membership and bring new energy to the charity.
Valley Leisure is a small charitable trust located in Andover, Hampshire with a passionate team committed to helping people ‘move more and feel better’.
Established over 30 years ago, the charity operates two facilities in the heart of the town – Riverside Bowl and I Can Therapy Centre. Having survived the temporary closure of both sites during the global pandemic, Covid-19, the Charity is positioned to diversify its delivery mechanisms and expand its reach thus benefitting more people.
To achieve its ambitions, the Board wish to strengthen their membership with new Trustees who will bring energy, experience and ideas. This will help transition the Charity into new operating environments and work to develop our services and deepen our impact.
If you are passionate, creative thinking, can bring a fresh perspective and excellent communication skills with a variety of stakeholders this role is for you. Valley Leisure encourage applicants who may already have experience of being a Chairperson, but we are also keen to attract applicants that may have a desire to progress into a leadership role in the future.
They are also seeking new Trustees who have digital, charitable, fundraising, health or social care experience.
Increasing the diversity of our Board is an important step towards us achieving our long-term plan. We are seeking to diversify our Board of Trustees through race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, lived experience of a chronic health condition or disability and age, especially younger adults under 35 years of age.
The role of Trustee is a voluntary position and new Trustees will be supported in the role. Trustees meet six times per year, currently virtually, with the Chief Executive and Senior Management team. It is anticipated that meetings will return to in-person meetings at either facility in Andover.
