Find funding for your school or youth group

Energise YOUth funding can support your youth club, school, or community group to get active.

Energise YOUth activities used to be called Satellite Clubs. Groups have used the funding to:

  • Provide positive experiences that build confidence and help young people enjoy physical activity and sport
  • Encourage 14-19-year-olds to become active and develop regular activity habits
  • Influence and improve delivery through support, advice and training to help coaches and leaders connect with young people

Who is the funding for?

If you are part of a school group, the funding can be used to support 11-19-year-olds. In particular, we welcome applications for after-school activities that will support pupils who are less represented in sport:

  • Girls and young women
  • Pupils who are LGBTQ+
  • Pupils with disabilities, additional needs, or who are not neurotypical
  • Pupils from low income households

If you are part of a youth club or community group, the funding can be used to support 14-19-year-olds. You could apply with your young carers’ group or LGBT+ support group or even an art or music club. But the funding should be used to support young people who are inactive, not very active, or who lack confidence to join a more traditional sports club.

How do I apply?

You’ll need the support of a teacher, leader, coach, or instructor. Show them the Energise YOUth funding page and ask them to get in touch.

But how can I support this?

All good Energise YOUth projects are created with young people. This means that the young people who will be going to the club or joining in with the activity should have a say on:

  • What activity you want to do
  • When, where and how the club runs
  • Whether there is a charge for the activity and how the funding and any income could be used

Don’t worry if this sounds a bit daunting. We are here to support you! We’re always at the end of a phone call or email. And we can even visit you and your club leaders to talk about different ways young people can be involved in the design of these projects.
