Wellbeing Walks

Wellbeing Walks are for people of all ages and abilities to come together and get their bodies moving. So here’s all you need to know about how you can join.

Because we tend to walk at a slower pace... I think we make more friends. A lot of really good friendships have been made.

What Are Wellbeing Walks

Wellbeing Walks are free, friendly group walks that help you get moving, feel better and connect with others. Whether you’re just starting out or getting back into walking, these groups may be just right for you.

Walks range from as short as 10 minutes up to 90 minutes – it’s your choice which you go to. They’re designed to be inclusive for all abilities, with a steady pace and easy terrain. So, there’s no need to worry about keeping up; no one gets left behind.

Each walk is led by a trained volunteer walk leader who ensures the route is safe and suitable for everyone.

You can find helpful details like the distance and estimated time of the walk online so you know what to expect before you join.

Why Join A Walk

Joining a Wellbeing Walk is a great way to:

  • Improve your physical and mental health
  • Enjoy fresh air and green spaces in your local area
  • Meet new people and make friends
  • Build confidence to get out and about more on your own
  • Feel part of your community

How To Join A Walk

There is no need to book to attend one of these walks, you can just turn up. Just meet at the starting point of your chosen walk a few minutes early so that a walk leader can give you a registration form to complete. Then you’re free to take part in as many walks as you like, as often as you like.

But if you have any questions or just want to make sure it’s right for you, you can get in touch with your local group. Jump down to ‘Wellbeing Walks Near Me’ to find the contact details for a group near you.
