Culture in Common Programme Manager

In this brand new role you’ll be helping communities across the New Forest create, experience and take part in arts and cultural activities they wouldn’t usually have access to.

You’ll be support the delivery of our Culture in Common Programme in the New Forest, working with the Programme Director on the delivery of projects, workshops and events as well as be the main liaison for our Community Champions.

You’ll bring your creativity to develop creative programming with grass roots organisations, and your communication skills to deliver community consultations across the New Forest.

You’ll also be expected to help us and Arts Council England monitor success, and understand what works and what doesn’t.

 

Pay and Benefits

  • Full time role (35 hours per week) We will consider applications for part-time, a minimum of 28hours per week.
  • Salary range: £32,500 to £39,200 per annum (FTE)
  • 25 Days holiday (plus bank + public holidays)

Role Highlights

We work across the whole of the New Forest, but with a specific focus on working with residents in Totton, the Waterside, New Milton, Pennington and the Avon Valley. As part of the role you’ll be:

  • Creatively programming arts and culture activities alongside communities
  • Managing strategic and operational relationships and building networks
  • Advising and training local events organisers on the use of community voice and insight
  • Day to Day management of the programme, including contract and budget management
  • Capturing learning and insight to feed into the programme evaluation
  • Representing Culture in Common at community and programme events

There are so many people involved in supporting communities to engage in arts and culture.  As well as the Culture in Common team and the wider Energise Me team, you could be working with Community Champions, Local Authority partners, artists, venues, charities, heritage groups and the National Park Authority.

Who we're looking for

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience of creative project or programme management
  • Ability to build positive relationships with communities, stakeholders, artists and partners
  • Knowledge of Asset Based Community Development
  • Some knowledge of The New Forest
  • Knowledge of arts co-creation
  • Knowledge of measuring and evaluation principles
  • Willing to work some evening and weekends to attend and participate in events

Other Things to Know

We offer great flexibility as an organisation. We’re in the office two days a week, and make sure we’re all in Winchester on a Tuesday and Lyndhurst on a Wednesday so we can meet as a team. The rest of the week you’ll be working, remotely in our priority places or home – it’s up to you.

We work in communities across the New Forest, travel across the district will be expected as part of the role.

The role is part of our Place team. You’ll be supported by the Culture in Common Programme Director and the rest of the Culture in Common and Energise Me team to grow and develop your own skills and knowledge.

Culture in Common is hosted by Energise Me and overseen by a consortium of organisations: Energise Me, Folio, The Handy Trust, New Forest District Council and New Forest National Park Authority.
