Community Wellbeing Worker (Children & Young People) (No Limits)

No Limits are looking for someone to support local children and young people across three areas in Southampton; Thornhill, Millbrook and Weston. As Community Wellbeing Worker you will help support young people with their mental health to help them become more active and engaged in activities in their local area.

The Community Wellbeing Worker is a paid role and is currently funded for 18 months, with a possible extension. You will need an Enhanced DBS to be successful in this role. DBS Guidance.

Part time or Full time (up to 5 days or 37 hours)
Grade C, pay points 6-8 depending on experience
Full time pay per year: £26,167.79 – £28,031.58

Main duties and responsibilities for this role include

  • Providing four to six sessions, on a one-to-one basis, for children and young people who are struggling with their mental health
  • Accompanying young people to help encourage them to engage in activities to improve their mental health
  • Building effective working relationships with other Southampton charities and local community groups to provide a person-centred approach to support
  • Attending community events to build local, trusting, relationships
  • Creating additional referral and signposting opportunities for young people in order to meet their emotional needs
  • Providing quality up to date information, advice and support which taps into personal, health and social development in the three local settings
  • Promoting the involvement of local residents in planning, delivery and evaluation of the Community Wellbeing Worker service
