Get involved with our youth panel

We know that young people are the experts on young people. So we want you to take the lead.

If you are aged between 11 and 19 and are interested in helping other young people to be physically active then the youth panel needs you!

You’ll need to set aside two hours a month, on a weekday evening, for Energise YOUth panel meetings. Our first meeting will be at our offices in Winchester. But, after that, they can be anywhere in Hampshire.

What will I have to do?

It is your panel so we will be guided by you. It will be a chance to share your ideas and help us figure out how young people can make their mark. Meetings will be informal. They’ll include a chance to talk in large and small groups. But you can share your ideas however you choose.

We want these groups to be as inclusive as possible. If there are any changes that would make it easier for you to attend then please let us know. For example, you’re welcome to bring a carer and we can arrange wheelchair access or support with reading or writing. Just let us know what you need. We will also provide snacks!

Help create happier, healthier and stronger communities.

What's in it for me?

You will get the chance to:

  • have your say on physical activity
  • learn more about the mental, physical and community benefits of physical activity
  • contribute to the strategy and direction of a Hampshire-wide charity
  • learn more about how charities run
  • meet professionals who can help you make new contacts and gain work experience
  • help create happier, healthier and stronger communities

We’ll also pay your travel expenses if you save your receipts.

Where do I sign up?

pigeon

Drop us an email, give us a ring or even send us a letter (bonus points if you use a carrier pigeon), telling us:

  • Your name
  • How old you are
  • Your parent or guardian contact details if you are under 18
  • Where in Hampshire you live (just the town name is fine)
  • Why you would like to join the youth panel
  • What skills or knowledge you might bring
  • What you would like to get out of the experience

Remember, this isn’t a test or an application. We just want to get to know you a bit to make sure that our first panel meeting goes as well as possible.

If you, or your parent or guardian, have any questions then please get in touch with Emma.
