Discuss creating a safer culture and an inclusive and accessible environment\, as well as the importance of effective safeguarding policies and procedures. \nThere is only space for 15 delegates per course\, so book now to avoid disappointment! \nBook your place \nWho is this course for?\nThis course is for anyone responsible for receiving concerns and making safeguarding adult referrals in NGBs\, Active Partnerships and other sport and activity organisations in England and Wales. \nTime\, Dates & Cost\nThe training will take place across four 1.5 hour online sessions – 1:30pm-3:00pm. \n\n\nTuesday 3 June\n\n\nWednesday 4 June\n\n\nTuesday 10 June\n\n\nWednesday 11 June\n\n\nThis course is free for Safeguarding Leads and Deputy Safeguarding Leads working at a national level in Sport England or UK Sport funded NGBs\, and Safeguarding Leads and Deputy Safeguarding Leads in Active Partnerships in England. For anyone else\, including Safeguarding Leads/Deputy Safeguarding Leads at County or Club Level\, there is a charge of £155. \nTraining Objectives\nThere will be small group work and a small amount of reading/thinking between sessions. \nThe aim of this training is to enable you to: \n\nUnderstand the background and context of Safeguarding Adults. This includes relevant legislation\, guidance and principles and how they relate to sport and activity.\nRecognise the importance of Safeguarding Adult Policies and Procedures. Understand how other policies and procedures can support safeguarding in sport and activity.\nUnderstand your role and responsibilities as a Safeguarding Lead when receiving and responding to safeguarding adult concerns and making safeguarding adult referrals to other external agencies\, such as the Police or the Local Authority.\nUnderstand issues of consent\, defensible decision making\, confidentiality and information sharing.\nIdentify responsibilities of sports organisations in safeguarding scenarios – ‘putting policy and procedures into practice’.\nUnderstand the wider context of safeguarding adults in terms of creating a safer\, more inclusive and accessible environment and culture.\nIdentify gaps and actions you need to take away with you to improve safeguarding adult practice in your organisation and for yourself – through Personal Goal Setting.\n\nBook your place \n

DESCRIPTION:Ann Craft Trust developed this course for anyone working in the sport and physical activity sector who wants to gain a basic understanding of why safeguarding adults is important\, how to recognise concerns and what to do when concerns are raised.\nThis interactive course is specifically tailored to those working in sport and physical activity who want to develop their understanding of safeguarding adults in their setting. We have worked closely with organisations to co-produce some of the content to ensure that the learner is connected to the content. \nWhether you are the business owner\, instructor\, leader\, co-ordinator\, trustee this course will help you understand what you can do to support adults who may be experiencing harm or abuse. \nThis course has been written and designed to develop people’s understanding of what it means to safeguard adults within the sector. Topics covered include: \n\nWhy we need to safeguard adults\nWhat concerns might look like\nWhat we need to have in place and ‘what our duty of care is.\n\nWhether you work or volunteer in a business or community organisation this course will apply to you as well as your fellow staff and volunteers who would find it useful to have a basic understanding of what it means to safeguarding adults. \nThe course consists of two modules. It covers what adult abuse is\, how to recognise the signs and how to report a concern.
