DESCRIPTION:Supporting healthcare professionals to improve patient care and outcomes through physical activity.\n\n\nAbout this event: \nFor healthcare professionals only \n \nWhat is PACC? \nThe Physical Activity Clinical Champions (PACC) programme provides free peer-led training and practical resources to support all healthcare professionals (HCPs) from hospital consultants through to community-based practitioners to have more effective conversations around physical activity with their patients. \n \nWhy choose PACC? \n– Behavioural change There is strong evidence that brief interventions by a health professional can help change the behaviour of a patient. \n– Guidance & clarity PACC trainers can highlight and explain the large amount of content on the Moving Medicine website. \n– Increased knowledge and confidence Evidence shows that Clinical Champions help increase knowledge and confidence of the HCP so they can be more effective in the delivery of brief interventions. \n \nBenefits of training \nBy joining over 55\,000 healthcare professionals\, who have already attended training\, this FREE online training provides the opportunity to: \n\nDemonstrate knowledge of current Chief Medical Officer’s (CMO) guidelines for physical activity\nDescribe population physical activity at national and local levels\nExplain the benefits of physical activity for the management and prevention of long-term illness.\nApply this knowledge into the clinical environment appropriately in the form of brief advice.\nFind out about local signposting opportunities in Hampshire and Isle of Wight\nJoin our online PACC forum where you’ll be able to download slides and other useful resources\, share their own best practice and learn from others\n\nThe PACC programme is a Sport England funded project which is run by a consortium consisting of The Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre at Sheffield Hallam University\, Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine UK and Intelligent Health
