SUMMARY:We Can Be Active: Support To Get Started With A Health Condition
DESCRIPTION:Join the Hampshire and Isle of Wight network of organisations that support people living with long-term health conditions to be active.\n\n\nHear from experts at national charities who are supporting people living with long term health conditions to find ways to be active that work for them. \nThe theme of this meeting is supporting those with a health condition to get active by providing accessible places and spaces. \n \nWho is this event for? \nThis event is for organisations delivering services across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight\, that are or would like to support members of the community living with a long-term health condition. \nWhether you’re from a local authority\, a leisure or community group\, a health charity or working as an activity provider\, this event is for you. \n \nWhy attend? \nAccording to Sport England\, 69% of people living with long-term health conditions would like to be more active. We know that physical activity benefits our hearts\, bodies and minds\, and together\, we can help others reap those benefits. \n \nWhat will you get out of it? \n\nLearn insight and discover resources available from national experts\nHear from guest speakers working locally with supporting people to overcome barriers to being active\nAsk questions and network with those working in a similar capacity\n\n \nThis Session: \nTwo panels will discuss their perspectives and insight on how accessible and inclusive spaces and places can support people with a health condition to be active. \nPanel 1: \n\nWe Are Undefeatable – Peter Dutton\, Activation Manager\nActivity Alliance – Nicola File\, Strategic Partnerships Advisor\nActivity Alliance – Frankie Rohan\, Programme Advisor – Recover and Reinvent Programme.\n\nPanel 2: \n\nPlaces Leisure – Danny Churcher\, Contract Manager for Test Valley\, Gosport and Dorset\nAutek – Steve Bond\, Director\nLiving Well Partnership – Hannah Fredericks\, Senior Health and Wellbeing Coach\n\n \n(Full agenda to come) \n \nThe We Can Be Active strategy states that we need opportunities that meet our needs and interests that are accessible and easy to find.
