Youth Mental Health First Aid Training (June)

Date: Tuesday 15th June 2021 (18:00 - 21:00)   Location: Online   Cost: £0

Youth workers, coaches, and instructors can play a vital role in supporting young people's mental health. We train to give physical first aid without hesitation - why not mental health first aid, too?

Did you know that 1 in 10 young people have a diagnosable mental health problem? That physical activity can actively protect and improve young people’s mental health? That many organisations now consider mental health first aid to be as important as physical first aid?

What does the course cover?

In this FREE online workshop, you will explore the most common mental health conditions experienced by young people and learn what youth and sport workers can do to prevent and/or intervene when needed.

You will be able to:

  • Challenge the stigma surrounding mental health
  • Define mental health & common illnesses
  • Spot the early signs of mental health problems in young people
  • Give help, support and guidance to any young person who needs it

Who is it for?

Volunteers, coaches, youth workers, and Satellite Club staff.

Resources and Certification

Everyone attending receives a mental health first aid manual and an attendance certificate.
