Our Talented Athletes

We want to show you some of the sporting talent across Hampshire – there are over 200 athletes on the scheme and we hope that these profiles will help you understand more about how they train, what their goals are and where they get their inspiration, so that you can find yours!

Figure Skating

Danielle Harrison is a member of the Basingstoke Ice Skating Club , and has represented GB at a number of internationals, as well as being the current British Ladies Senior Figure Skating Champion 2015/16.

Table Tennis

Letitia McMullan is ranked number 5 in England for U18s Table Tennis and is the reigning U16s schools National Champion. She spoke to us about her hopes for 2016.

Holly Mills is 15 and from Andover. A member of Andover Athletics Club, she specialises in the long jump and hurdles – including the 100, 200 and 300m distances. Nationally ranked first for the long jump, 60m and 80m hurdles in the U17 age group, she spoke to us about what helps her reach her goals.

Owen Richardson is the National 400m Champion, UK School Games 400m Champion, UK School Games 4x400m Gold medallist. Ranked No 1 in the UK for 400m, he lives in Basingstoke and spoke to us about his goals for the year.

Water Polo

Kathy Rogers is 17 and plays Water Polo for the Otter Water Polo Club in London. Currently ranked in the top four teams in Great Britain, Kathy told us what it was like taking her GCSEs while competing in Azerbaijan.

Wheelchair Basketball

Thomas Tobin is 16 and plays Wheelchair Basketball for the West Coast Tornadoes in Littlehampton. Currently training with the GB Wheelchair Basketball team, he spoke to us about his aspirations and love for Cool Runnings!
