Safeguarding

The protection and safety of children, young people and adults at risk is one the most important areas of work that we support. Sport has such an impact on all participants, especially when they’re in a safe environment.

As well as providing enjoyment and confidence it promotes teamwork and creates opportunities to learn valuable life skills. Every adult, every club, every agency involved in sport can make a big contribution to this positivity by making sure they put safe practices at the heart of everything they do.

We understand that the governance around Safeguarding can be complex and we’re here to help. We’ve compiled a list of useful links that take you to groups, charities and authorities that cover all areas of safeguarding – from the Ann Craft Trust that provides support for all sectors to protect disabled children and adults to useful resources from the CPSU (Child Protection in Sport Unit) to the training we offer at a local level.
